Hey EP--I have to admit, I have had many, MANY posts ignored...this is in fact why I don't participate over at Hook. I can post what I consider the most meaningful commentary and receive absolutely nothing in response.

I agree that you need the feedback. But, I don't know that it is as dependent on the content as it is on the relationships. I think that now I get responses typically because I interact with so many folks that I am relatively close to in a web-esque fashion. And that took about 3 yrs of regular interactions to develop.

And, some might say that's what's wrong with this place, but the relationships primarily developed via humor. IE, laughing at their jokes, them laughing at mine, etc., etc. Sharing some personal info, blah, blah, blah.

Not really much more to it than that. I don't think I've ever posted some amazing bit of DEAD analysis like LiA or DHMonte, but I have come to feel close to a number of folks here nonetheless. Just keep at it yourself...

crap - didnt see it (i must have been wallowing in a deep depression)

the Pats definitely have some work to do! But man, i am really impressed by Sanchez - he looks like the real deal just based upon two weeks of playing. Talk about poise beyond his experience!

Yeah, I don't want to get my hopes up too early (or jinx em) but he seems to have the talent and execution. I think the coaching is a big help all around, the team is playing like a team!!!

they sure are playing like a team!! I have always liked Rex Ryan - I think he is going to have some success with the Jets (much as I hate to say it.) Getting rid of Mangina was the smartest thing the Jets have done in years (other than, apparenty, drafting Mr. Sanchez)

peace

I agree with PM WT on this. I generally don't get many replies, but I also am generally not knowledgeable concerning much GD history so do not post much more than my own thoughts and observances.

However, I am convinced I heard the hints of Shakedown in the Playin from 9-18-74
http://www.archive.org/details/gd74-09-18.sbd.bertha-ashley.21925.sbeok.shnf

And truly am curious if anyone else hears it and if there are any earlier hints of Shakedown.

Hey, jg, in a spirit of cooperativeness I gave that Playin' a listen but I didn't hear a Shakey in there (do you recall what time it was that you heard it?). Still, all in all not a bad way to spend 20 minutes or so!

Thanks to Hippie64's marker.... I definitely hear it. Lasts 90 seconds or so. It's the rhythm groove more than the chords, although the chords aren't too far from Shakedown!

Very cool.

As I was saying, my posts are generally head and shoulders above average posters, and thus, I really am only here to read my own drivel over and over, and not somebody else's, like jgly or elb or whomever. So, one tactic is to immediately co-opt ("hijack") someone's sincere and heartfelt request for info by bringing the thread back around to the only topic that matters: me (or yourself, but of course, to me, that doesn't mean squat).

[JK, of course! But, as usual, damned if I can help you jgl! sorry...hope you are doing well, and yes, I still think of myself as having a tie wrapped around my head as I make my way thru the underworld of the forum, as you and elb so nicely described me way back when we three were here during one of the "big board" blackouts!]

Yup, I hear that shackdown riff very clearly. Love that show. Highlights for me are the Eyes-China, Truckin and Hes Gone. The French audience is so proper. No Portchester crowd there.

What is a shackdown you may ask? Why, its a long lost legendary Row Jimmy/Shakedown jam.

I really do need to proofread more;)
